Getting Ready to Learn

Parents of our Nursery class recently attended a Getting Ready to Learn session at school which focused on developing communication skills. We talked about functional communication and Donna, our Speech and Language Therapist provided some tips on how we can develop communication through play. We also talked a little about attention and engagement tasks and looked at some simple toys that may interest the children. 

Parents got to take home some play trays filled with coloured pasta, smelly rice and playdough. Here’s a few pictures of the young people enjoying the messy fun at home!
