SURPRISE VISIT TO THE PROTARIS OCEAN AQUARIUM …
On Friday morning (17th May) an additional trip was laid on for the team which was not on our original schedule. Protaras Ocean Aquarium is the home of 1,000+ species, such as piranhas, stingrays, turtles, crocodiles, penguins and many more. We were able to relax in the exciting and diverse underwater world and take a walk in the beautiful tropical gardens.
Yesterday (Saturday), we were driven to Larnaca to visit the Church of St Lazarus - a magnificent stone church which is one of the most remarkable examples of Byzantine architecture in Cyprus and lies over the tomb of the saint. This was followed by a tour of the Medieval Castle of Larnaka (also referred to as Larnaka Fort) is believed to have been originally built during the Middle Ages. (photos to follow).
We spent the evening having great fun meeting many of the R.O.A.B.people who had so generously made our holiday happen and provided meals for all of us from Neil's chippy! (one of the Buffs).
Today we had a very welcome "down day". We all needed a day to relax by the pool in beautiful sunshine.
Students from both of our schools continue to soak up this wonderful holiday with great enthusiasm. They are such a super bunch of kids to take away.
